Christmas With The Crawfords 2009

Last summer we decided to buy season tickets to Sea World. I'm sure I've mentioned that before. We thought we would go one more time before they ran out. The kids LOVE it there! I guess you either love it or don't. I've heard mixed reviews on Sea World......as for us....we LOVE it! My favorite memories as a child are when we went on trips. Maybe that's why I like to create that fun for my kids. David grew up camping, which is something I can honestly say I'm not fond of, but need to like because my kids all like it. That's beside the point though. I LOVE Christmas time and I love Sea World. What a great mix to have them together! I am STILL waiting to go to Disneyland or DisneyWorld at Christmas time.

I love going to priceline and bidding on a hotel. I'm always excited to see just how much money I can save and still stay at a nice place. We usually stayed at Motel 6 or 8 or a Best Western. I'm sure my mom will tell you different...since she thinks I paint a worse picture of all my childhood memories than they really were. lol.... :) Anyway, I got this Marriott Hotel for $55 a night! What a bargain! The kids were especially excited to swim since it is the middle of winter and we haven't gone swimming in a few months! What cracks me up is that they would get all nice and warm in the jaccuzzi and then run and jump into the cold pool! I vividly remember doing that as a kid. What possesses us to do such dumb things? Why put yourself through such misery? They sure had fun doing it. Although you will see as you scroll down that Eli woke up with a fever the next day.

Since we've been to Sea World a few times...we are more selective in what we want to see. We definitely have our favorites. One of them is the Sea Lion and Otter show. I don't think it's necessarily the animals though. There is a guy named BIFF and he TOTALLY makes the show! He is HILARIOUS and very entertaining. Quite an imitator and, well, I can't say enough. It's fun because we ALL think it's funny.

Dad and the boys went to ride on "Journey to Atlantis" a fun ride in the summertime cuz you get wet....but a bad idea in the winter cuz you get wet. Need I say more? I think that is the REAL reason Eli got sick. The wind was blowing and it was just plain cold. Hey, what happened to that nice California weather we have always heard about? Anyway, Abbie and I had the camera...so we decided to take pictures of each other in front of some of the fun Christmas decorations. How fun, huh?

Yes...another picture of our Abbie. She loves having her picture taken. She tells me where to snap the shot sometimes and also has quite a few poses that she does. Eli isn't as happy about getting his picture taken. So just in case you were wondering, that's why there aren't a lot of pictures of my Eli boy.

 

This is funny. Look really closely at David's right ear. He has kind of sensitive ears I guess you could say. Mason and Abbie were oblivious to those around them. There is Eli in the back sleeping with a fever and there is David driving with Kleenex in his ears to keep from being bothered by Abbie doing her Yoga or whatever it was she was doing and Mason joining in the fun! These are the things that we don't want to admit...but I think it's really fun to include. The REAL side of life. Yes, we have A LOT of fun together, but there are times where we are wishing for a BREAK! All in all, it was SOO fun! Maybe in a couple of days, I'll blog about Christmas in San Jose with all the cousins, Aunt and Uncles and Grandparents from David's side of the family.
